Treasurer
Meet the Candidates!
bonnie wong
Hello fellow Seawolves! My name is *Bonnie Wong*. You may have seen me at the USG Treasury office or recognized my name, as I currently serve as the *USG Treasurer*! It’s nice to meet you and I’m glad you are here to do your part to vote!
A little bit about me: I double major in Technological Systems Management and Music, and in the WISE Honors program. I spend my free time playing the piano, dancing, or traveling and exploring. I was a CEAS peer mentor and an International Peer Mentor with the Office of Global Affairs. I have been in USG for three years now, starting as a senator, then SAB Treasurer, and then Treasurer!
I am seeking re-election as *Treasurer* for a second term because I am truly passionate about this role. It’s become more than just a responsibility; it’s a hobby I genuinely enjoy! Serving others is something I deeply care about, and I take great pride in putting the needs of others first while helping them to the best of my ability. Over my time in USG, I’ve gained invaluable experience, and these insights will only strengthen my ability to serve even more effectively in the future. Today, I know the ins and outs of Treasury like the back of my hand!
My proudest *achievement* this year was streamlining the invoicing process, cutting the turnaround time from three weeks to just about one. If you're in a club, ask your club treasurer how I did this year. *I’m confident their answer will show why I’m the right choice for your vote!*
The question I always ask myself is *what can I do to ensure that USG is allocating the Student Activity Fee the most efficiently*. Here are some of the initiatives I wish to work on in the role of Treasurer:
- Commit to financial transparency
- Allocate the SAF in a way that maximizes its positive impact on the student community
- Less internal funding, more club funding + grants!
- Further improve accounting processes
- Host collaborative budget review sessions with club leaders
- Ensure clear and effective communication between the treasury office and club leaders

Tina li
Hello Seawolves!
My name is Tina Li, and I’ll be running to be your USG Treasurer for the 2025-2026 academic year. As a rising senior double-majoring in Applied Mathematics & Statistics and Business Management and specializing in Accounting, I hope to bring new insights and change to the Office of Treasury. I want to make financial processes more transparent, efficient, and accessible for all clubs and organizations on campus.
My Plans:
Speed Up Financial Approval Processes
• Streamlining purchase requests and optimizing invoicing for quicker processing.
Expand Budget Transparency
• Hosting open forums to explain budget allocations and ensure student voices and concerns are heard.
Support Club Treasury
> Blackbaud Tutorial Workshops
• Help make financial tools easier to navigate for club treasurers and e-board.
> Visual Manuals & Clear Grant Guidelines
• Create simplified visuals and handouts of the different budgets (PBC, Line, etc.), availability requirements, spending requirements, and deadlines.
• Creating a simplified financial manual with outlined deadlines and updates on available funds for Event, Travel, Asset, and WEEE Grants.
> Increase Club Fundings
• Advocating for increased financial support, especially for underfunded student clubs and organizations.
Having previously served as James Hall Council Treasurer, I worked with a limited budget, knowing how it may be difficult for student organizations to get supplies for their event and programs in a timely manner. Additionally, as VP of the Organization of Actuarial Students, I was involved in the PBC budget application process, giving me first-hand experience of how such processes may be hard for new or unfunded clubs. With my other experiences from Event Planning to Mentoring, I hope to bring a new perspective to budgeting and guide club leaders through financial processes, ensuring no one feels lost when applying for funding and spending approval processes. I want to take what I’ve learned and push for a more inclusive, student-focused financial system that is open to student ideas, focuses on club treasury development, and makes funding more accessible.
Vote Tina for Treasurer! Last but not least, as part of the Seawolves Forward Party, we want to build a better, more supportive USG. Students First, Fun-d-ward.
